ABOUT

I am a visual arts teacher in my 6th year of teaching. I work at The York School that is a technology rich environment. I have strived to bring technology into my classroom when I can. I love traditional materials like painting, photography and drawing but am always looking to bring technology into this learning. I use iPads in my classroom. This year I did digital photography with it but I am also exploring having students do preliminary drawings on iPads while planning projects.  A great way to do quick sketches and save ideas.

In addition to art and technology, I'm interesting in learning more about holistic education. I have taken a variety of holistic courses at OISE with Jack Miller. These courses, have highlighted the importance of thinking about the whole child, of balance in teaching (and my life) and blending teaching/learning strategies. I hope some of this is seen in this site.
